Low Water Advisory issued March 15 at 3:15PM EDT until March 17 at 8:00AM EDT by NWS Cleveland OH* WHAT…For the Small Craft Advisory, south winds 25 to 30 knots
with gusts up to 40 knots and waves 1 to 4 feet. For the Gale
Warning, west winds 35 knots with gusts up to 50 knots and
waves 3 to 6 feet expected. For the Low Water Advisory,
abnormally low water levels expected.

* WHERE…The nearshore waters of Lake Erie from Maumee Bay to
Vermilion OH.

* WHEN…For the Small Craft Advisory, until 8 AM EDT Monday.
For the Gale Warning, from 8 AM Monday to 8 AM EDT Tuesday.
For the Low Water Advisory, from 8 AM Monday to 8 AM EDT
Tuesday.

* IMPACTS…Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. Below normal
water levels will result in hazardous navigating conditions.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…A strong cold front will move across Lake
Erie early Monday morning followed by strong westerly winds.
Water levels in the Western basin of Lake Erie are expected to
fall rapidly below the critical mark which is 6 inches below the
water datum for safe marine navigation Monday morning through
Tuesday morning. Water levels are expected to slowly recover
